Housing Application

Deposit, Application, and College Housing License Agreement

Below you will find links to the Campus Housing forms and applications. The 2013-2014 Housing Application is available below. Read the full list and select the forms that apply to you.  If you are confused at any point, feel free to contact the Office of Residence Life by phone at 617-521-1096 or email at ResLife@simmons.edu to identify the correct forms.

To live on campus, the Office of Residence Life needs to have two items:

  • Housing deposit. If you are a current or returning resident, you most likely have a housing deposit on file; you will be contacted directly if you do not. If you are a new undergraduate student, you will send your deposit to Admission. If you are a new graduate student, Dix scholar, or a commuter, you will send your deposit with deposit form directly to the Office of Residence Life
  • Housing application. By filling out the housing application you are also electronically signing the College Housing License Agreement.

All forms are online except the General Housing Deposit form, which must be mailed/delivered to the Office of Residence Life with your check.

Housing Application

If you are a first time, first-year student planning to move on campus:

You will need to fill out a Undergraduate Housing Application. We hope to make the application available in late April for the fall. You will need to fill out a Housing Application starting in late September if you are planning to move on-campus in January. You do not need to know a roommate to fill out a Housing Application. You may make changes to your housing application after it has been submitted (see below).

If you are an undergraduate student planning to continue living on-campus, a commuter moving to on-campus housing, a student returning from a leave of absence, a student returning from Study Abroad, or any other student that is not a first-year student moving on-campus for the first time:

You will need to fill out a Undergraduate Housing Application before housing selection. Please review the room selection time line and process page for more information.

If you would like to make changes to your Housing Application:

You may make changes to your housing application after it has been submitted by filling out the Housing Change form. Changes made after June 30th for fall semester are not guaranteed to be honored.

Incoming Graduate and Dix students interested in living on campus for 2013-2014 should contact our office as soon as possible so we can place you on our housing interest list. A deposit of $250 is necessary to be placed on the housing list (see deposit section above). Rooms will be filled in the order in which we received the housing deposit.

Housing Deposits

To submit your housing deposit form, you need to download the General Housing Deposit form and mail/deliver it to the Office of Residence Life with your check.

If you have submitted a housing deposit:

You may fill out the appropriate housing application, assuming the housing application is currently being accepted. Please do not submit an application if it is not officially being accepted. If you do not know if you have submitted a housing deposit, you may call Student Financial Services or the Office of Residence Life. Note: If you are a returning resident, you most likely have a housing deposit on file.

If you have not submitted a housing deposit to Simmons at any point:

You will need to have a housing deposit on file before a housing application will be honored. Note: For new students, we house based on deposit date, so we suggest depositing as soon as possible.

College Housing License Agreement 2013-14

Whenever you live on campus, you must agree to the license agreement. You sign the license agreement when you submit your housing application. There is a different agreement for undergraduates and graduates/Dix scholars. Please be familiar with the license agreement before signing your housing application as it will govern your rights and responsibilities while you are in Simmons housing.
