Welcome to Residence Life at Simmons! The Office of Residence Life manages all Simmons housing, room selection, and arranges many on-campus events. This page lists the latest news and announcements, and you can learn more about Campus Housing, Communities, and the Room Selection process throughout this section.

RD Selection

There is still an opening for a Part-time RD, the listing will be on the Simmons Employment soon. The process has been put on hold, but will resume again shortly. Those interested in RD positions can find more information on our Staff Selection page

Spring 2013 Late Stays

If you are required to remain on campus as a commencement volunteer or for extenuating circumstances beyond the following dates then you need to fill out the Late Stay Request Form to request to be approved for late departure.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS: May 5 @ 12:00 noon
STUDENTS GRADUATING: May 11 @ 12:00 noon
GRADUATE STUDENTS & DIX SCHOLARS: May 11 @ 12:00 noon

Please note that completing this form does NOT mean that you are automatically approved to stay past your move-out date. The Office of Residence Life will review your request and send approvals or non-approvals via email.

The deadline to request a late stay is Sunday, April 28 at 11:59pm. You will hear back on whether your request is granted no earlier than Wednesday, May 1.

Mail Forwarding

Simmons residents looking to have their mail forwarded to their off-campus address this summer should fill out this form.

Sunday, April 28 at 11:50 pm - Deadline to request Late Stay

Tuesday, April 30 - 24 Hour Quiet Hours begin

Sunday, May 5 at 12 pm - Residence Halls close at noon for all students except graduating seniors, Dix scholars and graduate students

Friday, May 10 at 8:30 am - Summer Housing begins (application can be found here)

Saturday, May 11 at noon - Residence Halls close for graduating seniors.

Saturday, June 1 at 11:59 pm - Extended Deadline to Withdraw from housing

Withdrawal from Housing

For the 2013-2014 year:
If you are interested in withdrawing from housing for the 2013-2014 academic year, please complete the form here. First year students need to request an exemption. The deadline to withdraw has been extended to Saturday, June 1, 11:59 pm. If students withdraw after this date, they will forfeit their housing deposit.

From License Agreement: SECTION 5.1: CANCELLATION POLICY
In order for a resident student to cancel her/his License Agreement, she/he must submit a written request by the required dates to and receive written approval from the Office of Residence Life. [...] Supporting documentation may be required for all withdrawal requests. [...] All requests will be considered, however all students must assume they are bound to the housing contract unless they receive written notification indicating otherwise from the Office of Residence Life.
