Simmons graduate tuition is based on a charge per credit, and most courses are valued at four credits. When budgeting, consider that tuition typically rises each year and that some expenses listed are approximate. Student Financial Services
Simmons makes educational opportunities available to as many qualified students as possible, and welcomes applications from students who cannot meet their educational expenses without financial assistance. The Office of Student Financial Services offers financial advising and answers questions concerning aid available at Simmons College and through other sources.
Merit Scholarships
Merit-based scholarships are available in all programs. Awards can range from $500 - $5000 per semester. All applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships; no additional paperwork is required beyond the application for admission. Qualified applicants should apply early to ensure the availability of funding.
Federal Financial Aid
Applicants who wish to be considered for federal aid must submit two forms: the Simmons Supplemental Information Form and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once admitted to an academic program, you will be considered for various subsidized and unsubsidized federal and state loans. Priority deadlines for financial aid applications are March 1 for summer and fall, and October 1 for the spring.

Graduate PLUS Loan
The Graduate PLUS Loan us a federally funded loan that enables graduate students to borrow up to the full cost of attendance less any other financial aid received. Repayment begins within 60 days after full disbursement of the loan, with disbursement made in equal installments, one half during the each semester of a student's enrollment. You can apply for the Graduate PLUS Loan online through ELM Select.
Teaching/Research Assistantships
Available starting in the student's second semester of study, teaching and research assistantships are granted to qualified graduate students. Students must apply for assistantships, and are selected by the graduate program director. Teaching assistants are assigned to a specific course and work under the close supervision of a graduate faculty member. Assistantships are a $2,000 taxable award per semester, distributed by payroll checks.
TEACH Grant Program
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants up to $4,000 to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
