Technology in the Library
The Technology Desk on the first floor of the Library is the perfect place to go when you have a question about printing, copying, scanning, or checking out equipment. You can reach them by phone at 617-521-2222 or online at the Service Desk. For answers to quick questions, you can also use their FAQ page.
Using Multi-Function Devices in the Library
Guests and alumnae/i can obtain guest cards to use the multi-function devices from the Technology Desk on the first floor of the Library.
Printing
Print from any Simmons computer to any Campus Print printer. Simply send the document to the print system, then release the document at any printer in the Library or on campus using your ID tap card.
With Campus Print, you can print from any non-Simmons computer to any printer, too. Go to the Campus Print site, login, and upload your file to the system. Then, release the document from any Campus Print printer in the Library or on campus using your ID tap card. See Technology's for more information.
Copying
Copying is a breeze with the new ID tap card system. Tap your card to initiate the machine, select Copy, and proceed as usual. The multi-function devices copy single-sided, double-sided, on letter or legal size paper, in color (for some machines), and can even give you higher-quality copies for photos or Powerpoint slides. See Technology's step-by-step explanation for more information.
Scan-to-Email
The multi-function devices also let you scan-to-email. This great service eliminates paper waste and helps keep your important research all in one place — your computer! Use your tap card to initiate the machine, then select Email. Type in your email address or select it from a list of addresses. Load your papers as you would to copy, then press Email It. See Technology's step-by-step explanation for more information.
