Whether you realize it or not, you are probably negotiating all day long. You might be negotiating with your boss, colleagues, teachers, classmates, friends, or parents. Negotiation is all about figuring out what you want, why you want it, and how to get it. The final part -- getting what you want -- is best done in a way that leaves everyone satisfied, and maybe even happier than when they started. This course will explore how to negotiate "win-win" solutions to a range of situations, from simple conflicts to those very difficult conversations that we all avoid. Students will role play a range of negotiation situations both face-to-face and online. The course will culminate in learning how to negotiate your own career success. A first-time College-wide offering for masters degree candidates and senior standing undergraduates, this course will be taught by Professor Paula Gutlove, who teaches negotiation internationally, in addition to her very popular MBA negotiation course here at SOM.
