Connecting Job Seekers and Employers
CareerLink is the primary Simmons job board, providing employers a vehicle to reach out to and hire Simmons students, both undergraduates and graduate students, and alumnae/i. Employers can post full-time jobs, part-time jobs, internships, volunteer positions, and fellowships. By registering and creating an employer contact profile, you will be able not only to post jobs for Simmons students and alumnae/I but register for on-campus career fairs and recruiting events, view the resumes of students that have been posted to the system, and more. There is no charge to employers either to set up an account or post position openings.
Registering for CareerLink
To register for CareerLink, please click here. Before creating a new profile, please be sure to look up your organization and select it if it is already in our system.
Once registered, you can log in to CareerLink here:
Once logged in, you can edit your profile in CareerLink, search student and alumnae/i resumes, post jobs, request on-campus interview schedules, and register for upcoming recruiting events.
To post a new job, from the Jobs menu select "New Job" and complete the job posting form. Be sure to complete all required sections (e.g., contact phone number, e-mail, etc.). Jobs submitted for posting are reviewed by the Career Education Center and posted or returned for revisions within one business day.
To close a filled job, from the Jobs menu select "Job List," select the job you wish to close, and click on "Close Job" on the left side of the Job Detail screen.
The complete CareerLink User Guide - Employers is available here.
Hiring a Student or Alumna/us
Please be sure to complete the application instructions to ensure that prospective employees follow your application process. Students and alumnae/i can submit their resumes to you via CareerLink, or you can specify another application method. If you have hired a Simmons student or alumna/us using CareerLink, you can report this hire by clicking on "Report a Hire" from the CareerLink homepage and submitting the required information.
- I am trying to register for CareerLink but I am receiving an error message that my "user name is not unique." Why can't I register?
This message means that the system already has a profile with your selected user name in the system. This indicates that you may already have a profile in CareerLink, even if you have not previously created one. CareerLink is used by the Simmons CEC to record career-related activities such as career fair attendance, and the CEC will often set up profiles to record these activities if they do not already exist in the system.
To resolve this issue, go to the CareerLink login screen and click on "Forgot your password?" A reset password will be sent to your e-mail address, which you can use, along with your user name, to log in to CareerLink. You can go to "My Profile" to edit your password after logging in.
- Are there any rules regarding posting jobs on CareerLink?
Commission-only positions are generally not posted, and it is recommended that purely volunteer/community service opportunities be sent to the Scott/Ross Center for Community Service. Jobs on CareerLink are posted for up to three months at a time to ensure that older jobs that are no longer current do not remain in the system. Jobs may be re-posted as many times as required.
- What kind of jobs are posted on CareerLink?
A variety of jobs may be posted to CareerLink, with a few exceptions. Full-time jobs for recent graduates and alums, part-time off-campus jobs for current students, internships (both paid and unpaid), and summer jobs are all listed on CareerLink. Both on- and off-campus work-study jobs are posted on CA$H.
- Is there any cost for using CareerLink?
No. Access to CareerLink and the resume search/job posting features is free of charge. However, specific career fairs and events may have a registration fee for employers, which will be listed on the event registration page.
- Who can access CareerLink to view jobs?
All current Simmons students and all alumnae/i may access CareerLink. The CareerLink database can also be accessed by faculty and staff of Simmons College via a separate launch portal.
Post Jobs & Internships
Employers seeking to hire Simmons students and alumnae/i can use two different online job boards for recruitment purposes. The two job boards are CareerLink, for off-campus opportunities, and CA$H, for on-campus and work-study positions. Employers can use these job boards to advertise full-time, part-time, internship, and volunteer opportunities.
