MA & MFA Programs in Children's Literature

The Center for the Study of Children's Literature at Simmons provides a rigorous, disciplined study of children's books for those who are — or who intend to be — involved in teaching, library services, publishing, writing, or related fields, and offers several degrees to that end, including a Master of Arts in Children's Literature, a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children, a dual degree in Writing for Children (MFA)/Children's Literature (MA), and a dual degree in English/Children's Literature.

Library Science

The Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science offers specialized literature and services courses to those students interested in increasing their familiarity with works for children with an eye towards professional youth services in libraries and allows them to earn both a professional (MS) and an applied (MA) degree.
