A Collaborative Academic Community

At the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), learning takes place in small classes and group discussions, with lectures, team projects, collaborative research and presentations, field experience and internships, and site visits. Our collegial environment is interdisciplinary and collegial in nature. As a result, CAS graduates are prepared to work in many different professions and draw upon many skills.

CAS offers liberal arts graduate programs in Children’s Literature, English, Gender/Cultural Studies, and Spanish. In addition, students may choose from several dual-degree options, including Teaching and Liberal Arts. All programs provide a challenging educational experience in which every student develops an informed, critical, and committed voice, and learns to be a leader and collaborative member of a professional community.

Come visit our campus for an admission event, a lecture, or an interview with a program director, and discover what Simmons can offer you. For more information, contact Graduate Studies Admission at 617-521-2915, or gsa@simmons.edu.

  • “The GCS program was so theoretical I struggled at first. For me, it was a process of stepping back and opening my mind to all that theory and then realizing what pertains to my interests and how I want to use it in my activism. The program changed how I see the world.” Megan Renfrew ’04 M.A. (GCS)
