Understnd. Islam & Hist. Persp

4 sem. hrs. Examines Islamic society from its beginning to roughly 1400. Covers issues such as the rise of Islam in the Arabian peninsula, the creation of Islamic dynasties, and the establishment of Islamic law. Familiarizes students with a wide range of topics and diverse chronological periods, with an emphasis on connections between Islamic societies and other parts of the world Ortega.
