Historical Methods/Research

4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: At least three history courses and consent of the department. Enrollment normally open only to seniors and graduate students. Studies history as an interpretive craft. Interrogates the range of written, visual, material, oral, and quantitative types of sources that historians use. Explores various methods and models for how academics and other professionals research, analyze, and produce history, from academic writing to public exhibits and documentaries.
