James Baughman

James BaughmanProfessor and Director of the School Library Teacher Program

Work experience in library, information, and media centers, and consultant experience in library and information science. Past Chair, Committee on Accreditation of the American Library Association. Recipient of the American Library Association's "Research Competition Award" based on an article titled "Toward a Structural Approach to Collection Development." Areas of interest: governance of non-profit organizations, international concepts of library and information development, philosophy and techniques of library and information management, collection development, and knowledge control for interdisciplinary research. Authored MCAS and School Libraries: Making the Connection; Trustees, Trusteeship, and the Public Good: Issues of Accountability for Hospitals, Universities and Libraries; and Policy Making for Public Library Trustees. Past editor of the Trustee Voice (American Library Trustee Association).
