Reference Librarian and Assistant Professor, Stonehill College

 Heather Brodie Perry

Heather Brodie Perry is a Reference Librarian and Assistant Professor at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. She teaches two courses as part of the learning community, "Through the Looking Glass." This course challenges students to research, debate and critically evaluate social policy and the claims made around these policies.  At Stonehill she is currently working on a program to create greater collaboration between faculty and librarians in courses.  The Faculty-Librarian Partnership Program (FLPP) enables faculty to explore new ways to achieve their curricular goals using technology and unique library collections. This program also enables librarians to work more closely with faculty to achieve their Information Literacy objectives.

She received her MLS from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She started her career as a Reference and Community Services Librarian at the Framingham Public Library, in Framingham, Massachusetts, where she was able to work on the formation of a grant funded library Job Center and create a Multicultural Collection for the many speakers of other languages in the community. The grants involved the establishment of many programs and members of the community.

Her research interests are in the corporate sponsorship of information, and the impact of conflict of interest on the body of research.
