Patricia Condon received her Master of Library and Information Science and Master of Arts in Anthropology from The University of Southern Mississippi and her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire. Patti comes to the Simmons PhD program after nearly five years as a health researcher for Consumer Reports in their Vermont-based office.
During her undergraduate studies and prior to moving to Mississippi, Patti was employed as a library assistant in a small academic library where she was able to participate in most aspects of managing the library. While at Southern Miss, Patti held a teaching assistantship with the School of Library and Information Science, during which she instructed the undergraduate course Introduction to Information Literacy; and a graduate assistantship with the McCain Library and Archives working on the Mississippi Civil Rights Digitization Project processing and digitizing collections.
Patti's current research interests are focused on archives and records management. In general, they include conservation and preservation of print and digital media and cultural heritage; library and archive education; and community archives.
