Programs

Simmons GSLIS has been helping students build exceptional careers in library and information science for over 100 years. Our distinguished faculty work closely with their students to build a strong foundation of theory, principles, and practice, and our vast and international alumni network provides lifelong professional collaboration and support. GSLIS programs are nationally accredited by the American Library Association and internationally respected.

Our Programs

We offer a range of progams from master's and doctoral degrees, to post-master's certificates. Delivery methods include online, onsite, and blended learning options. See the full list below.

Master's Programs

The Master of Science is offered on a full- or part-time basis at our Boston campus, and on a part-time basis at our Mount Holyoke campus. Many of our classes - and some degrees - are also offered online.

Doctoral Studies

Simmons offers students a small, excellent doctoral program: an opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty in a collaborative environment that is enriched by interaction with students, alumni, and a thriving library and information science community.

Online Programs

Students who aren't able to relocate to the Boston area can now take advantage of the many strengths Simmons has to offer, including the prestigious and award-winning faculty, the first-of-its-kind online Digital Curriculum Lab (funded in part by IMLS and NHPRC) and our extensive alumni network.

Post-Master's Programs

Our post-Master's programs are targeted toward those students looking take their abilities to the next level, whether to achieve licensure or to acquire the skills for today's challenges.

Continuing Education

The Simmons GSLIS Continuing Education program offers more than 70 workshops a year, ranging from half-day to full-day workshops onsite at the Simmons GSLIS campuses, and fully asynchronous online workshops that run for a month.
