Simmons College is composed of five major academic units. The largest, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), has two core components: the undergraduate college and the Graduate Studies programs. The other four academic units are the professional schools: the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS), the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS), the School of Management (SOM), and the School of Social Work (SSW).
All of these academic programs are supported by a set of central service and administrative units. The purpose of the entire administrative structure, including the administration of the academic areas, is to create an optimal environment for students and faculty to work and learn together.
