Writing Center

Writing tutors work with undergraduate and graduate students in courses from all disciplines. In one-on-one sessions, peer tutors provide students with support and resources to strengthen skills. On-campus and online tutors work with students of all skill levels and at any stage of the writing process, e.g., brainstorming, articulating a thesis, developing and organizing ideas, analyzing and synthesizing ideas, researching topics, supporting points with evidence, integrating and citing sources, English language, planning next steps, correcting error patterns (not editing or proofreading).Visit the Writing Center website for tutor schedules and online tutoring support, handouts and links to resources:

Undergraduate Conference

On behalf of the CAS Dean's Office, the Writing Center organizes the Undergraduate Conference, a showcase of undergraduate students' scholarly research and creative work at the end of the spring semester each year. Panel presentations, posters, films, and creative projects celebrate the achievements of students from all disciplines. Papers presented at the Conference are eligible for publication in the Simmons academic journal Essays & Studies. For more information and a slideshow of last year's Conference, visit the Conference website:
