Maurice Sendak, 1928-2012
Maurice Sendak was among the most prolific, beloved, and sometimes controversial children's authors/illustrators of the 20th century. In his memory, the Library has created a Sendak-themed book display -- come check out his headstrong, bossy characters, his masterful illustrations, and his "luminous worlds, at once lovely and dreadful." Let the wild rumpus start!
