Registration Guidelines Spring 2014

For all questions about billing, refunds, and financial aid, please contact Student Financial Services at 617-521-2009.

This information applies only to the Spring 2014 semester.

Students in the School of Social Work should refer to their Student Handbook for registration policy specific to their program.

Below you will find information on how to:

Add A Course:

Date Instructions
By Jan. 24th 2014

Add the course to your schedule on AARC.

If consent is needed, you don't have the pre-requisites, or the course is closed, the instructor can email consent@simmons.edu.

-OR-

If consent is needed, complete an Add/Drop Form with the instructor's signature and return to the Registrar's Office.

Jan. 25th to Feb. 7th 2014

Complete an Add/Drop Form and obtain the course instructor's signature on the form. Undergraduates also need their advisor's signature.

Return the signed form to the Registrar's Office.

Graduate students can have the instructor email consent@simmons.edu.

After Feb. 7th 2014

Undergraduate students must request approval from the Administrative Board. Complete: (1) a Petition to the Administrative Board; and (2) an Add/Drop Form, including the signatures of your instructor and advisor. Return the signed forms to the Registrar's Office.

Graduate students must obtain instructor and advisor/program director signatures on an Add/Drop Form.

Graduate students can have the instructor email consent@simmons.edu.

Drop A Course:

Date Instructions
By Jan. 24th 2014

Drop the course from your schedule on AARC.

For most courses, this is the last day for a full refund.

Jan. 25th to Feb. 7th 2014

Complete an Add/Drop Form.  Return it to the Registrar's Office in C-116 or via fax at 617-521-3144. Undergraduates need their advisor's signature on the form.

The dropped course will not appear on your transcript.

All students receive a grade of "W" for withdrawing from the course after the Feb. 8th deadline.

 

Feb. 8th to Mar. 7th 2014

Undergraduate students must complete an Add/Drop Form and obtain signatures of both the instructor and your advisor on the form.

Graduate students can have their advisor email consent@simmons.edu.

All students receive a grade of "W" for withdrawing from the course after the Feb. 8th deadline.

After Mar. 7th 2014

Undergraduate students must complete: (1) an Add/Drop Form; and (2) a Petition to the Administrative Board, including signatures of the instructor and advisor (form can be obtained in the Office of the Registrar, C-116).

CAS, SNHS and GSLIS graduate students must obtain the signature of their course instructor and advisor/program director on an Add/Drop Form, and return to the Office of the Registrar.

CAS, SNHS & GSLIS graduate students can have their advisor/program director email consent@simmons.edu.

Select a Pass/Fail Grading Option:

Date Instructions
By Feb. 7th 2014

Undergraduates: Complete a Pass/Fail Form and obtain your advisor's signature. Return the signed form to the Office of the Registrar, C-116.

After Feb. 7th 2014

Undergraduates: Complete a Pass/Fail Form with your advisor's signature. Also, complete a Petition to the Administrative Board and return the signed form to the Registrar's Office, C-116.

Select a Formal Audit Grading Option:

Undergraduates: Complete a Formal Audit Form, obtain signatures of instructor and advisor. Return the signed form to the Registrar's Office, C-116.

After Feb. 7th 2014

Undergraduates: Complete a Formal Audit Form and obtain all required signatures. Also, complete a Petition to the Administrative Board and return the signed forms to the Registrar's Office, C-116.

Graduate students should speak directly with the program advisor or admissions office for audit policy and procedures, as they vary by school.
