Add/Drop Policy Summer 2013

Non-attendance in a class does not constitute withdrawal.

SUMMER SESSION STARTS 5/13/13


To Add A Course

Before May 13th 2013:

  • Add the course to your schedule on AARC.
  • If consent is needed, you don't have the prerequisites, or the course is closed, the instructor can email consent@simmons.edu OR Complete an add/drop form with the instructor's signature and return it to the Registrar's Office.

May 13th to May 24th 2013:

  • Complete an add/drop form and obtain the course instructor's signature on the form. Undergraduates also need their advisor's signature.
  • Return the completed form to the Registrar's Office.

May 25th to May 31st 2013:

  • Undergraduate students must request approval from the Administrative Board. Complete a Petition to the Administrative Board and an add/drop form, including signatures of your instructor and advisor. Return the signed forms to the Registrar's Office.
  • Graduate students must obtain instructor and program director signatures on an add/drop form OR Graduate students can have the instructor email consent@simmons.edu.

 

To Drop A Course

Before May 13th 2013:

  • Drop the course to your schedule on AARC.

May 13th to May 24th 2013:

  • Complete an add/drop form and return to the Registrar's Office. Undergraduates need their advisor's signature on the form.
  • The dropped course will not appear on your transcript.

May 25th to May 31st 2013:

  • Undergraduate students must complete an add/drop form and obtain both the instructor's signature and their advisor's signature. Return the signed form to the Registrar's Office.
  • Graduate students can have the instructor email consent@simmons.edu.
  • All students receive a grade of "W" for withdrawing from the course after May 24th (but before May 31st).

After May 31st 2013:

  • Undergraduate students must complete an add/drop form and also a Petition to the Administrative Board, including signatures of the instructor and advisor. Return the signed forms to the Registrar's Office.
  • CAS, SHS, and GSLIS graduate students must obtain the signatures of their course instructor and program director on an add/drop form OR Graduate students can have the instructor/program director email consent@simmons.edu.
  • All students receive a grade of "F" for withdrawing from the course after the May 31st deadline.

Students in the School of Social Work should refer to their Student Handbook for registration policy specific to their program.
