Setting up your Technology Access

On or before your first day of work, all faculty and staff should have met with a representative of the Talent and Human Capital Strategy Office to complete your new hire paperwork. Approximately 24 - 48 hours following this appointment, your technology account will be activated based on the information provided during your appointment. This account will allow access to the Simmons network, as well as an e-mail account. Additional access, such as Moodle and specific network shared drives, need to be requested separately through the Technology department. To set up your password and log into your network account for the first time, you will need to follow the following steps:

Harassment Prevention on Campus - Required Training

Within 30 days of your start date, or rehire date if you have a break in service greater than 12 months, all faculty and staff are required to complete the Harassment Prevention on Campus training, which is located online:

Kronos Timekeeping System

Simmons College staff are required to input their hours periodically in our time management system, Kronos. Faculty do not currently enter time into Kronos. Exempt staff record their time monthly and non-exempt staff record their time bi-weekly. Your username and password for Kronos will be the same as your network username and password. Kronos can be accessed via the following link:


Please note: We recommend using Internet Explorer (IE) as your browser when logging on to Kronos. If you are unable to log on through IE, you can also log on through VMWare View Client, which should be installed onto your computer. If this program is not installed, submit a ticket to the Technology Help Desk at or at extension 2222. For instructions on how to use VMWare View Client, please visit the Technology website.

As a Simmons employee, you will be paid on a monthly basis on the first business day of the month, if you are an exempt (salaried) employee. If you are a non-exempt (hourly) employee, you will be paid on a bi-weekly basis.

If you elect to receive your paychecks via direct deposit, a paystub will not be mailed to you. You can view and print your paystub online using ADP's iPay service. For instructions on how to register for iPay, please follow these instructions:

Benefits eligible faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend a Benefits Orientation to understand timelines within which benefit elections need to be made, upon their start at Simmons College. These orientations are held bi-weekly THCS will schedule these with you upon hire.

You will have 30 days from your start date to elect benefits, otherwise, you will not be able to enroll or change your benefits until open enrollment, which is held in the spring for a July 1 effective date. You may also be able to change your benefit elections if you experience a qualifying event, as defined by the IRS.
