Political Science and International Relations Chair Zach Abuza was quoted on the PBS Radio show World Focus Nov. 5 about terrorism in the Philippines.

The Center for Hygiene and Health for Home and Community was mentioned in a Woman'sDay.com Nov. 11 on "Give Your Home a Healthy Makeover." It also was mentioned in a Nov. 7 article in the Wichita Eagle/Kansas.com about "the germiest places in the house." Additionally, the center was cited as a source on a WebMD cold and flu calculator.

Professor Jill Taylor, chair of the women and gender studies department, was quoted in an Oct. 27 Associated Press article about the pregnant covergirl on the November issue of Teen Vogue magazine.

School of Management Professor Sylvia Maxfield was interviewed on National Public Radio's Tell Me More program Oct. 20, discussing the public outrage over recent bonuses for Wall Street executives.

Communications Lecturer Dan Connell was featured in a Nov. 9 McClatchy Newspapers article about Eritrea and its president. The article was picked up by the Christian Science Monitor, Yahoo!News, Kansas.com, and the Macon (GA) Telegraph.

Teresa Nelson, director of entrepreneurship program, was quoted in an Oct. 20 MSNBC.com article about the lack of "green" government funding for women-owned businesses.

Alumna Nicole Urban was profiled in the October issue of Seattle Woman magazine about her role as a leading researcher at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, concentrating on preventing women's cancer deaths.

School of Management Dean Deborah Merrill-Sands was featured in the Nov. 6 issue of the Boston Business Journal about her initiatives as the "green dean." She also was quoted in an Oct. 30 Boston Globe article about the decline in the number of top-level women executives in Massachusetts.

Alumna Kristin Cashore and her second young adult novel, Fire, were featured in the Oct. 10 MiamiHerald.com.

The Graduate School of Library and Information Science's partnership with the Boston Public Library to oversee the opening of a temporary library in Chinatown was mentioned in the Oct. 23 issue of Sampan, New England's only bilingual Chinese-English newspaper.

School of Health Sciences Dean Gerry Koocher was quoted in an Oct. 18 Cape Cod Times article about how parents can help stop their kids from swearing.

The Nov. 11 Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported that its editor, alumna Leah M. Lamson, has received the Judy Brown Spirit of Journalism Award from the New England Society of Newspaper Editors.

The November issue of eUpdate, the newsletter of MASCO (the Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization, Inc.) featured a photo and article about the LEED Gold-certified School of Management and Academic Building.

Alumna Phyllis Dotson and her husband, George, were featured in the Oct. 25 issue of Tulsa World about being inducted in the Tulsa Hall of Fame.

Health Care Administration student Matthew Woods, vice president of finance, chief financial officer, and treasurer at Winchester Hospital, was mentioned in an Oct. 8 Winchester Star article about the hospital's new leadership.

Graduate School of Library and Information Science Alumna Suzanne Madara Maryeski, the new director of the Public Library of New London (CT), was profiled in an Oct. 19 New London Day article.
