On September 7, the 99th annual Convocation opened the 2011-2012 academic year with a welcoming address by Helen Drinan. The all-college event was held on the academic quad with a reception following at Java City. Seniors marched in academic procession, Dean's list members were honored, a number of seniors were inducted into the Academy, and students from the class of 2015 were presented with their class pins.
