BOSTON (February 28, 2012) — Simmons College presents the 11th annual LUNAFEST, a touring film festival featuring award-winning "short films by, for, and about women," March 20 at Simmons College, the Main College Building, 300 The Fenway. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in C-101 and is open to the public.
Hosted by the Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change and the student-run Sexuality, Women, and Gender Center, LUNAFEST is dedicated to highlighting women filmmakers while raising awareness of women's issues. The film festival includes nine short films, ranging from animation to fictional drama, and covers topics such as women's health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity, and breaking barriers.
Donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds from LUNAFEST will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund. LUNAFEST is created and funded by LUNA®, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women®.
