Simmons College Students to Showcase Communications Savvy at The Show! The Party! May 4

BOSTON (April 8, 2004) — Simmons College communications students will exhibit their work at the fourth annual The Show! The Party!, Tuesday, May 4 from 4 — 7 p.m. in the 5th floor of the library building in the Communications Department at 300 Fenway, Boston, MA. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Show! The Party! showcases student work done throughout the year, right in the very rooms in which it was created. Simmons students are producing professional, creative, and edgy design pieces ranging from multimedia, web and graphic design, print pieces, advertising material, photography, public relations and journalism written material. Many communications and business professionals have previously attended the event.

Simmons College President Daniel Cheever will deliver opening remarks, followed by an open show of works. "I love the fact that students work on real projects showing class work and field work—hands-on experience," says Cheever. "I love the sense of spirit, camaraderie, and closeness. The students take great pride in their work and it shows."

The Show! The Party! is managed by Studio 5, a program that provides a faculty-supervised workplace where students undertake projects for non-profit clients while working as collaborative teams. This event is designed for Communications students to celebrate their creativity, hard work, and talent. It also allows students to exchange ideas and cultivate career or internship opportunities with the professionals of their field.
