Below is a sampling of some of the recent news coverage of Simmons College, its people and its programs.
The Financial Times of London ran a large feature story and photos on the Simmons School of Management on Sept. 1, which interviewed Dean Deborah Merrill-Sands, Professors Jill Avery and Fiona Wilson, and recent graduate Cheryl Fudge. Financial Times is one of the premier international publications geared toward a business audience.Simmons College was included in a list of "Great Schools for Education Majors" in a special section with the Princeton Review's 368 Best Colleges. The only other Massachusetts schools included were Wellesley, Smith, and Northeastern.
Simmons's ranking in U.S.News & World Report as a "best college" was featured in more than 100 newspaper and broadcast outlets nationwide.

Simmons School of Health Sciences Dean Gerry Koocher was interviewed on National Public Radio's All Things Considered Aug. 15 to discuss a dispute within the American Psychological Association about psychologists' roles in detainee interrogations
English Professor Renee Bergland's book Maria Mitchell and the Sexing of Science was reviewed in the August issue of ScienceNews magazine.
Simmons Freshman Libby Collins was quoted in a Sept. 5 Boston Globe article about the role of college orientation in building students' spirit and community.
The CityWide Girls Summit to empower teen girls, held at Simmons Aug. 16, was promoted in the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge, Hyde Park Tribune, Mattapan Tribune on July 24, and Bay State Banner Aug 7. The event was covered in the Aug. 17 Boston Herald and Aug. 21 Bay State Banner.
Simmons School of Management Professor Patricia Clarke was quoted in a July 9 thestreet.com article titled ""Financial Surveys Do Women a Disservice."
An article remembering the late Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science Professor Allen Smith ran in the Aug. 18 Attleboro Sun Chronicle.
The hire of Stefano Falconi as Simmons's senior vice president of finance and administration and treasurer was announced in the Aug. 24 issue of BostonHerald.com.
Simmons School of Management alumna Juliette Mayers was profiled in the Aug. 28 Bay State Banner and the Sept. 2 Quincy Patriot Ledger about her new role as chair of the board of directors of Action for Boston Community Development Inc.
Simmons alumna Hannah McCarthy was featured in an Aug. 23 Brookline Tab article for receiving Simmons's Lifetime Alumnae Achievement Award during Alumni Reunion Weekend.
Simmons School of Management alumna Jessica Good was profiled in the Sept. 4 Cambridge Chronicle about her retail store Passport Boutique, which focuses on travel items and clothing.
Junior Juliana Ross was featured in an Aug. 21 Israel on Campus Coalition website article announcing her role as a Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Intern at Simmons Hillel for the 2008-09 school year.
A July 27 Quincy Patriot Ledger article about the role of librarians mentioned the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences. The article also was picked up in the July 27 Brockton Enterprise.
