Majors and Programs

With over 40 majors and programs, Simmons has the field your daughter is looking for. The OPEN program (Option for Personalized Educational Needs) allows students to custom design majors. Students typically declare a major by the end of their sophomore year. Nearly 30% of Simmons students major in two subjects! Simmons also offers a number of integrated undergraduate and graduate programs, and special academic programs.

Faculty

Students identify the faculty as the College's greatest asset. More than 109 full-time professors, the majority of whom hold doctoral or highest appropriate degrees from the nation's top schools, bring their enthusiasm and expertise into the classroom. They are published authors, ardent scientists, eminent speakers, working journalists, economists, nurses, physical therapists, business and non-profit consultants, musicians, philosophers, and poets. At Simmons, we take safety very seriously. In addition to our first-rate health services, with 24-hour access to student health professionals, an excellent public-safety operation, and an emergency preparedness plan that serves as a model for other universities, Simmons is now the only college in New England to provide the CareCall Emergency Notification Service.

Student Financial Services works with students and their families to help manage the cost of college. Our diverse student body represents a healthy mix of socio-economic backgrounds — approximately 75 percent of first-year students receive some form of financial assistance.
