Elizabeth Alvarez-Nyante received her M.S.W. in 2006 from Simmons College, where she had formerly received her BA and interned at the Counseling Center. Mrs. Alvarez-Nyante has experience working with children and Adolescents at Children's Hospital, Wayside and Advocates. Mrs. Alvarez-Nyante has also worked with adults and provided direct social services at Cornu, a public housing management agency. Currently she works at the Simmons College Counseling Center as a clinical social worker, providing evaluations and outpatient therapy from a Feminist Theory and Practice Model. She also both supervises and participates in training students of Simmons and Wheelock College. Her key areas of interest are young adult development, feminist theory and trauma. Over the past 3 years, she has used her Spanish to work with a primarily Spanish-speaking population at the South End Community Health Center providing outpatient services.
