SoYun Kwan, M.S.W., LICSW
SoYun Kwan graduated from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work in 2005, after having received her undergraduate degree from Boston University. Ms. Kwan has worked in various areas of social work, including child protection, residential placement, and international justice. For the past 7 years, she has been the senior social worker in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital, with expertise in providing adjustment support, short-term counseling, trauma/crisis intervention, and bereavement services to children and families experiencing acute, chronic, and terminal illness. Ms. Kwan has developed support programming for siblings and parents in the ICU and has also co-authored a chapter on resources and supports for families of children with special health care needs at end-of-life. She has recently transitioned to the roles of social worker in the Liver Transplant Program and social work liaison to the Pediatric Transplant Center at Boston Children's Hospital.
