Dennis McGrath, M.S.W., LICSW
Dennis McGrath has joined the School of Social Work as a faculty advisor this year. Dennis recently retired from serving for 20 years as the school social worker at the Dedham High Alternative Program. Dennis also taught a high school course for seniors called College and Career Planning.
In addition to school social work, Dennis served as an activity group therapist for 10 years at the Academy of Physical and Social Development in Newton. Prior to that, he worked in the area of substance abuse and did social work in prisons. At the present time, Dennis continues to counsel adolescents and their families at TEC High School in Newton. He also trains Dedham School District teachers and nurses in crisis-intervention principles and techniques.
