Robbie Tourse, M.S., Ph.D., LICSW
Robbie Tourse returned to Simmons in 2008 following a 29-year career at the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work where she taught courses on racism, human behavior, and clinical practice, and was the director of field education for 13 years. Dr. Tourse received her M.S. from Simmons SSW and her Ph.D. from Boston College School of Education. She was the 2009 recipient of the Simmons SSW Alumni Association Special Recognition Award. Her clinical experience includes work as a child, individual, and couples therapist at Cambridge Family and Children's Service and the Putnam Children's Center. She also served as director of social services at Lena Park Community Development Corp. In addition, she has been a consultant and maintains a small private practice. She has a long list of affiliations including NASW and ABSW, awards and honors, book reviews, presentations and publications. Her work has appeared in the International Journal for the Advancement of Counseling, Journal of Teaching in Social Work, Encyclopedia of Social Work, Journal of Social Work Education, Social Work, and Journal of Ethnic & Cultural Diversity in Social Work. She has also authored several book chapters and has four articles either in press, in review or in preparation.
