Simmons College SSW Announces CSWE Accreditation of BSW Program
August 7, 2014
The Simmons College SSW is pleased to announce the CSWE accreditation of its new BSW Program, which opened to students in the Fall of 2013. The School of Social Work's 110 year legacy and pattern of high quality professional preparation and educational innovation have made it an ideal site for a new program designed to train baccalaureate-level, generalist social workers.
Denise Hildreth M.S.W., Associate Professor of Practice and the Director of the BSW Program, with the help of Allyson Livingstone, M.S.W., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Practice and Director of Field Education for the BSW Program, worked collaboratively the past few years to ensure all of the requirements were met for accreditation. A big congratulations goes out to the both of them for their hard work and dedication!
This exciting news strengthens the SSW community and offers all those involved a sense of trust and professional quality for the work being done by both faculty and students. Even though the BSW Program is one of the most recent endeavors of the School of Social Work it has already become a vibrant part of the SSW Community. With its first class graduating in the spring of 2015, this next year is already proving to be an exciting one!
