Intro to Chemistry Research

Prereq.: A satisfactory score on the Simmons chemistry placement examination. Introduction to the Chemistry Research Laboratory is a lab-intensive course that introduces students to chemical research skills in a laboratory setting, while building upon the topics of bonding, chemical reactivity, molecular structure, periodic trends of the elements and much more. Upon conclusion of the course, students will have learned how to safely use a variety of lab equipment, develop research plans, conduct experiments to implement the research plan, and write and present a research report.
