The Symphony

4 sem. hrs Enhances the listener's appreciation of the modern symphony orchestra, trends from preclassical composition into the 21st century. The development of orchestral instruments and symphonic forms are studied. Integrates live concerts by the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Symphony Hall and by the New England Philharmonic Orchestra.
