Music in America
4 sem. hrs. Introduces America's multicultural musical tradition, including Native American, African American, and Hispanic contributions, with consideration of related material such as painting,sculpture, architecture, dance, and literature. Gives special attention to work songs, jazz, blues, ragtime, concert repertoire, and musical theater and their influence upon European cultures.
