Bob taught a variety of painting, drawing and printmaking courses in the Department of Art and Music studio art program. He was the first Director of the Trustman Art Gallery, the Curator of the College Art Collection and served as Department Chair.

He curated over 150 exhibitions and developed the Simmons Art Collection with a strong emphasis on women artists. He currently works as a visual artist in his studio in the South End of Boston. His mixed media work was recently exhibited at the Trustman Art Gallery, the Howard Yezerski Gallery, Boston and in 2012 was added to the collection the New Britain Museum of American Art.
