Great Discoveries in Science

4 sem. hrs. Not a prerequisite for further courses in the department. Focuses on breakthrough ideas concerning the universal laws of nature, the origin and composition of the universe, the nature of matter, and the origin and evolution of life. Encourages learning through inquiry and cooperative strategies to foster an appreciation of the processes, accomplishments, and limitations of science. Includes lecture and laboratory sessions.
