"I think the real strength of Studio 5 is that it taught me how to listen to a client's problems, find a solution, make a plan, sell it to them, and complete that work.

Studio 5 demands creativity, ingenuity and patience. It demands a process. I learned so many invaluable lessons about real-world creative work... You get what you give, and more."

Studio 5 is a renowned faculty-facilitated, professional communications studio: students doing real work for real clients. This capstone course in Simmons College's Communications Department, gives soon-to-graduate students the advantage of hands-on experience before they begin their professional careers.

Students work in collaborative teams to undertake a number of projects for non-profit organizations in the Boston metropolitan area. These may require them to analyze client communications' needs, identify an appropriate strategy for a budget and on a deadline, and create professional-quality solutions to meet client needs.

Students enrolled in the course are experienced in various communications fields including graphic design, marketing, integrated media and public relations writing.
