Pol Econ US Capitalism

4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: ECON 100 and 101 or consent of the instructor. Analyzes contemporary U.S. capitalism through the prism of class, with emphasis on Marx's economic theory of class structures, surplus, exploitation, competition, contradiction, and crisis. Critically compares Marxian economic theory to neoclassical and Keynesian theories. Combines lectures and discussions, and develops critical thinking through critical writing.
