The Quest for Identity: Self

4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: FREN 245 or consent of the instructor. Explores the theme of the self and the other in the French literary tradition from the Middle Ages to present times. Close readings of a variety of literary genres will allow us to study the different embodiments of the 'other' including the colonized, the feminine, and the self.
