Gov't & Politics of Africa
4 sem. hrs. Examines political, economic, and social development of Africa, with special attention to the legacy of colonialism and the Cold War era and their impact on contemporary national-building projects. Topics include conflict and identity, democracy and development, the state and civil society, military governance, and Africa's role in regional and international politics.
