Analyzes problems encountered by developing countries, such as decolonization; the formation of a national identity; military interventions in politics; the development of representative government; challenges posed by powerful companies and nation states; and the need to combat poverty, illiteracy, and economic underdevelopment. Focuses on case-studies from the Asia-Pacific region.
