4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: SOCI 101 and junior standing. Introduces students to transnational studies. Addresses transnational studies as a critical tool for examining subjects, social relations, and cultural processes. Highlights issues of race, nation, gender, class, and sexuality in a world where cultural and political borders are being reconstituted by capital. Focuses on themes of nationalism and belonging, citizenship, migration, cultural practices, and diasporas.
