We offer a variety of support services to help you do just that, from the health center to counseling services, from academic support to peer tutoring, from sports to spiritual life, we have you covered. Simmons Health Center
The Health Center, located on the Simmons Residence Campus, offers routine and urgent appointments, as well as after-hours health care to Simmons undergraduate and graduate students. Services are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day during the academic year either at the Center, or when the Center is closed, by telephone contact with the provider on call.
The Simmons Counseling Center, located on the third floor of the Palace Road Building (P305), provides confidential mental health services, including evaluations, referrals to outpatient providers, short and longer-term counseling, and wellness programming for undergraduate and graduate students. Counseling can help address a range of life challenges and difficulties. To make an appointment to speak with one of our counselors, please stop by our office between 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday.
The Simmons community is committed to supporting all our students—including those with disabilities—by providing support and accomodations ranging from accessible housing to academic support to services advising. The Disability Services office is here to help you thrive while you're here at Simmons.
Health Education at Simmons
Health Education at Simmons supports our students health and well-being by offering programs on a variety of topics, including time and stress management, smoking cessation, nutrition/healthy eating, disordered eating, body image, drug and alcohol use, safe sex, HIV/AIDS education, self-esteem and healthy relationships, and the prevention of relationship violence and sexual assault.
They also host college-wide lectures, interactive peer-led workshops, health awareness campaigns, and individual and group health, wellness, and nutrition counseling from professional health educators, student health educators, nutrition, health and counseling staff.
Getting Active, Staying Fit, Having Fun
Our Holmes Sports and Fitness center also houses state-of-the art-training equipment, hardwood courts, and indoor running area, swimming pool, dance and exercise rooms, and holds year-round programs and clinics, including the Lifelong Exercise and Activities Program (LEAP). Through LEAP, you can take classes like Zumba, Cardio Kick, Yoga, and Dance, just to name a few. Check out the Leap section on the Athletics site to see the current offerings »
Simmons is part of the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, where you can join in on events and activities with our five neighboring colleges.
