The current cost of on-campus housing for graduate students is located on Student Financial Services' Costs & Fees page. Housing includes a meal plan. At this time, it is unlikely that on-campus housing will be available for 2014. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Residence Life at (617) 521-1096.
Residence Life offers Commuter Housing (scroll down) for students who need to stay overnight one or two nights a week, or in the case of a blizzard or other emergency.
At this time, there is no on-campus housing offered at GSLIS West.
Craigslist: Boston and Boston Apartments will get you started if you need to find off-campus housing in the Boston area. In addition, the Simmons off-campus housing website can help you find apartment listings and/or roommates. Neighborhoods surrounding Simmons include Jamaica Plain, Symphony and the Fens; slightly farther away (but easily accessible by public transportation or on foot) are Allston, Brighton and Brookline. Cambridge, Somerville and Quincy are additional options that are farther from campus but still accessible by public transportation.
The Finding a Place to Live section of the Career Resource Library's Resources for Surviving the Real World guide contains a wealth of useful information and links regarding moving to Boston specifically, as well as information on budgeting and renter's insurance.

Near Mount Holyoke
The MBTA - usually referred to as the T - is the city's public transportation, which also serves many of the surrounding communities. Through Simmons, students can purchase a discounted T pass for Fall and Spring Semesters. For details, see the Student Life Commuter Page. Fall semester passes (September-December) must be ordered in August, and Spring semester passes (February-May) must be ordered in January.
