The Wall Street Journal’s 2025 college rankings value student success and professionalization over prestige. Specifically, the WSJ rankings take into account student experience, graduation rates, career-preparedness, starting salaries post-graduation, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Simmons is ranked #205 among the top 500 U.S. colleges and #15 among Massachusetts colleges. Beyond its master list, WSJ created four additional rankings: Student Experience, Best Salaries, Social Mobility, and Best Value. Within these subcategories, Simmons performed especially well within social mobility: #126 nationwide and #2 statewide. In this context, WSJ determined social mobility by calculating the average net price of attending the college and the value added to graduates’ median salary attributable to attending the college. The proportion of students from low-income families (including Pell Grant recipients) also factored into this measurement.
