The Post Master’s Licensure program (Southborough or Partner) are available only to NECC applicants who already hold a master's degree in Behavior Analysis.

The Office of Graduate Studies Admission reviews NECC employee applications on a rolling basis. Applications are open for fall, spring and summer terms.

Admission may be deferred for up to one year, after which applicants must reapply.

Application Requirements

All candidates are required to submit the following materials:

  • A completed online application form.
  • Statement of purpose: In 500 words or more, describe your philosophy of teaching and learning. Explain your reasons for pursuing this degree and your interest in this specific area of teaching.
  • Current résumé or C.V. Please be sure to provide complete details of your employment with NECC, including your job title and start date.

Those who apply after accepting an offer of employment, but before their start date at NECC, should also email a copy of their employment offer letter to [email protected].

  • Official transcript(s) of all undergraduate and graduate-level courses taken (even if a degree was not earned), including official transcripts from all study-abroad programs*. If applying to the post-master’s licensure programs, applicant must submit a transcript showing conferral of the required Master's degree in Behavior Analysis.
    • Official transcripts can be mailed to the address below or sent electronically directly from the institution attended. For transcripts to be official, they must come directly from your college/university or sent through a service such as National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment.
    • *International transcripts must be officially translated into English if the document is not in English.
  • Optional: Applicants with a cumulative undergraduate GPA below 3.0 are strongly encouraged to submit supplemental supporting materials, including academic letters of recommendation, MTEL score reports, proof of registration for upcoming MTELs, and/or an additional statement that addresses prior academic performance. These documents can be emailed to [email protected].

In addition to the requirements listed above, applicants for whom English was not their first language may also be required to submit the following:

  • An official TOEFL or IELTS score (Simmons' TOEFL code is 3761) - required of applicants for whom English was not their first language and who do not hold a degree from a university where English is the primary language of instruction.

NECC-UAE Only

In addition to the requirements listed above, students must also:

  • NECC-UAE applicants might be asked to participate in a virtual interview with a member of the Department.
  • Once the interview has been completed, a member of the Department may waive the TOEFL requirement.
    • The Simmons' TOEFL code is 3761 and is required of applicants for whom English was not their first language and who do not hold a degree from a university where English is the primary language of instruction.

Tuition and fees

Tuition and fees at Simmons are updated annually each spring. They are assessed each semester based on the number of credits enrolled, the level of degree, and the particular program of study.

All students taking 9 or more credits are required by Massachusetts State law to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan or be covered by a health insurance plan with comparable coverage.
