Elissa Zeno
'10, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Virginia
Elissa Zeno is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Virginia. She graduated with her BA in Women's and Gender Studies from Simmons University in 2010 and her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Virginia in 2021. She currently teaches a range of courses in the sociology of gender, sexuality, families, and inequality. In addition, her research focuses on the social meaning and implications of new reproductive technologies for gender equality and family in the contemporary age.
Elissa will participate as the Fall 2021 Mentor-in-Residence to give a public presentation, "Synchronizing your Biological Clock: A Conversation with Elissa Zeno" and to speak at a private class session for SOCI 232 on the topic of "Gender, Power, and Reproduction."
