The Department of Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and the Department of Politics and Policy are excited to invite you all to our joint Black History Month Lecture on Thursday, February 27th at 3:00 pm in C-503 (5th floor of the Management Building).
This year's event is titled "Rethinking Incarceration: Abolition Activism In and Outside of Prison" and features a discussion with Hamza Berrios, an abolitionist activist currently working to restore prisoner voting rights in Massachusetts.
Berrios was incarcerated for 16 years and graduated with a BA from BU's Prison Education Program. He is an experienced organizer and is pursuing a doctorate and a career in academia. Light refreshments will be provided.
