The Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program is hosting the annual Dotson Lectureship, and all are invited to attend. This year’s lecturer will be the first Latina guest speaker, the exceptional Dr. Adrianna Nava, discussing "Shaping the Future of Population Health in America: Voices, Values, and Vision" This main lecture event will take place in the Linda K. Paresky Center with time for questions and refreshments.
It was while working in the nursing field, that Dr. Nava grasped the importance of addressing the severe racial disparities this country faces in access to care, and she later decided to merge her career with healthcare reform. She joined the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) in 2009 and served as their National President from 2021—2024. This led to her contribution in critical health policy changes and advocating for nurse leadership across the country. Her current role is that of Applied Research Scientist at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Dr. Nava was named one of the Top 25 Emerging Healthcare Leaders of 2023 by Modern Healthcare and was inducted as a Fellow into the Academy of Nursing in the fall of 2024. On her daily mission, she continues supporting diverse communities’ right to equal care and fighting to ensure nurses’ voices are heard in health care policy.
We hope to see you all at this exciting event. There will also be a livestream available to view if you would like to join us virtually.
