Ms. Badawy is a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. State Department, currently working as a policy advisor at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. Before joining the political team at USUN, she served in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Washington, France, and Saudi Arabia. In 2019, Dina stepped away from the State Department and independently joined the UN Panel of Experts on Libya until 2021. Prior to her career in diplomacy, Dina was an FBI analyst who conducted investigations into transnational extremist groups.
A second program is scheduled on April 17 with former senior diplomats, including former deputy assistant secretary Victoria Holt, now the Director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College, and former ambassador to Rwanda Erica Barks Ruggles, now the Magro Family Distinguished Visitor in International Affairs at the Dickey Center. In addition, Jacqueline Charles of the Miami Herald will visit Simmons on April 7 to talk about the Situation in Haiti.
